Six file types, six guides

Getting it
installed

Pick the kind of file you downloaded. Every step is written for someone who has the file and nothing else open yet — no step assumes the panel is already there.

Effect presets you drag onto a clip — zooms, shakes, whips, ramps.

  1. 01

    Unzip it somewhere permanent

Premiere imports a copy, but the ZIP itself is your backup. Put the extracted folder somewhere you will not clear out — not Downloads.

  2. 02

    Open the Effects panel

In Premiere Pro, Window then Effects. It is a panel, not a menu, so it may already be docked in the bottom left.

  3. 03

    Import Presets

Click the panel menu — the small stack of lines at the top right of the Effects panel — and choose Import Presets. Select every .prfpset file at once.

  4. 04

    Find them under Presets

They appear in the Effects panel under Presets, in a folder named after the pack. Type a name into the panel search to filter.

  5. 05

    Drag one onto a clip

Drop it on a clip in the timeline. Everything it changed is then editable in Effect Controls — nothing is locked and nothing is nested.

If

If Import Presets is greyed out, no project is open. Premiere stores presets against the app rather than the project, but it still will not let you import without one — open or create any project first.

Still not installing

The Discord is the fastest way to get an answer — someone has usually hit the same thing on the same version. Email works too and is usually answered the same day.
